We are excited to announce that The Nest has been selected as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition!
Jamie Wyman is an attorney and social worker turned singer-songwriter. After following a more traditional course to make the world a better place, Jamie realized songwriting was her most powerful tool. Her songs touch on subjects that capture unique moments in the human experience. From setting out on new adventures and taking leaps of faith, to vertigo and being an introvert, Jamie moves beyond the usual love song. Performing as a trio and a full band, Jamie has joined forces with Garrett Tovey on lead guitar, Josh Glass on drums, and her partner Andy Belski on bass to produce a big sound that walks the line between Folk Rock and Alt Country. Their collaborative songwriting promises to make you sing along. Influences include Brandi Carlile, Mumford & Sons, Grace Potter, Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane, and Janis Joplin.
In 2018, Jamie received a scholarship to attend the songwriting workshop at the Crown of the Continent Guitar Festival. During this week-long retreat, she studied the craft of songwriting with Liz Longley, Jim Messina, and Justin Townes Earle. The following week, Jamie founded The Great Blue Song Project, a nonprofit that pairs songwriters with people coping with illness or grief. In addition to leading the project, Jamie’s song “I Didn’t Know” is featured on the debut album for those affected by breast cancer: Paint Them All In Gold. Her song, “The Nest” was chosen as a semi-finalist in the 2020 International Songwriting Competition and it appears on a compilation album to benefit the Missoula Art Museum. Jamie continues her quest to save the world through music.
